508TH FIRST AID KIT RESURFACES

During the opening ceremony of the new 508th memorial, a lady donated a medical box to the Wollaton Museum.

The woman said that a 508th trooper gave to her in 1944 when she visited Wollaton Park. (Photos courtesy of Graham Lawson)

Cover of the metal box bears the medical caduceus and the title "U.S. Army Medical Department"

Inside the cover are basic instructions covering actions to take during various medical emergencies

Although some contents have been lost over time, the box still contains a number of original packets

Still in place are boxes for bandages, swaps and compresses as well as a scissors and forceps
