BRICQUEBEC AND ROCHEVILLE

In the village of Le Foyer along the D9012, at the apex of a triangle formed by nearly equidistant legs less than 2 miles each running west to the town of Bricquebec and north to Rocheville is a memorial dedicated to the memory of two 384th Bomb Group, 544th Squadron crews who were killed in the crash of their B-17s after they were hit by flak.

2nd Lt. Herbert Small and his crew were killed on April 27th, 1944.when his aircraft crashed near Rocheville while 1st Lt. James E. Foster and his crew were killed on May 8th, 1944 near Bricquebec.
