IV — AWARD OF THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE:

      Under the provisions of AR 600-45, as amended, and pursuant to authority contained in letter 200.6 (AG) Headquarters XVIII Corps Airborne, dated 31 August 1944, the following named individuals are awarded the Bronze Star Medal:

      WILBURN F. CLARK, 39020969, Corporal, 508th Parachute Infantry. For meritorious service in connection with military operations against the enemy for the period 6 June 1944 to 17 February 1945 during the NORMANDY, HOLLAND end BELGIUM Campaigns. Corporal CLARK, Assistant Squad Leader, Company "F", has never missed a single day of combat duty with this regiment during three campaigns. During the BELGIUM Campaign, although suffering intensely from exposure, he refused to be evacuated, and performed so aggressively as to be an inspiration to the members of his squad. Entered military service from SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA.
