History of the 508th Parachute Infantry by William G. Lord

Written by the father of Harry W. Lord who was a member of the 508th and KIA on February 23, 1945. This book is an excellent documentary of the 508th from the days of its activation, the migration of men through the various stages of training and on into battle.  It ends with the unit's deactivation in November 1945

The book features many photographs and an outstanding Appendix series documenting the 508th Honor Roll, individual and unit awards and 508th history highlights.  Of special note is the pictorial depiction on the inside of the hardcover detailing the 508th's movements during it's brief but dramatic lifetime.
