WILLIAM L. BRAWNER

Grave marker for William L. Brawner in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf (Charles county), Maryland.

Although born in Virginia, William registered for the draft in Indian Head, MD in 1940 

He enlisted in the Army at Baltimore, MD on 26 November 1943.

Pvt Brawner was transferred from the 11th Replacement Depot to Company H, 508th PIR on 10 August 1944.

Pvt Brawner was wounded in action in Holland on 11 October 1944 but was able to return to duty on 3 December.

He was promoted to Pfc on 31 January 1945 but by that time was hospitalized classed as a non-battle injury on 13 January.

Still hospitalized on 10 May 1945, he was transferred to the hospital's detachment of patients and did not return to the regiment.

He was discharged from the Army on 2 July 1945.
