MARCEL P. CORNACCHIA
   CORNACCHIA - Pete Cornacchia of 3530 Game Farm Road, Springfield, passed away October 23, 1988, at the age of 62. He was born in Portland, Oregon, and had been a resident of this vicinity for most of his life.
   He was outdoor editor for the Register-Guard and a member of Ducks Unlimited, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the Izaak Walton League. He was a World War II Army veteran.
   He married his wife, Virginia, in Eugene on July 31, 1948. Surviving besides his wife are 4 children: Sherry Cornacchia Boyd of Anchorage, Alaska, Steve Cornacchia of Eugene, Carol Cogburn of Springfield and Camille Cornacchia of Anchorage, Alaska; 3 grandchildren.
   Funeral services will be held Friday, October 26, 1877, at 1:30 p.m. in the Westminister Presbyterian Church at 777 Coburg Road with Rev. Own Douglass officiating. Private interment to follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to Ducks Unlimited Fund or the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. POOLE-LARSEN FUNERAL HOME in care of arrangements.

Marcel enlisted in the Army on 18 January 19844 and was discharged on 7 May 1946.  His specific dates of service with the 508th are not yet known.
