Grave marker for Allen L. Davis in Maplewood Cemetery, Tullahoma (Coffee county), Tennessee.

Allen registered for the draft in Shelbyville, TN on 19 May 1943 and was inducted into the Army on 18 January 1944.

Pvt Davis was transferred from 82nd Airborne Division, Leicester, England to Service Company, 508th PIR on 5 October 1944.  He was subsequently transferred to Company on 8 December 1944 and then to Company B on 8 January 1945.

He was promoted to Pfc on 15 January 1945.

Pfc Davis re-enlisted on 10 November 1945 and was discharged on 10 September 1948.

His military decorations include the Combat Infantryman Badge awarded for action during the campaign, 18 Dec 1944 to 20 Feb 1945,
