INNOCENT DEFABBO

(courtesy of Dennis Marini)

Crypt marker for Innocent "Cinze" DeFabbo and spouse in the Mausoleum of the Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg (Greene county), Pennsylvania.

Innocent enlisted in the Army at Pittsburgh, PA on 27 February 1943 and volunteered for parachutist duty.

Pvt DeFabbo was transferred to Company D from the Parachute School on 6 August 1943.  On 2 September 1943 Pvt DeFabo was transferred to Replacement Station 990.

At the time of his enlistment "Cinze" was listed with the occupation class of "Semiskilled miners, and mining-machine operators" and it is interesting to note that his marker has the UMW [United Mine Workers] of America logo on it.  He apparently returned to mining after his discharge.
