MARLIN E. DYKSTRA

Grave Marker for Marlin E. Dykstra in the Courtland Township Cemetery, Rockford (Kent County), Michigan.

Marlin enlisted in the Army on April 30, 1943 at enlisted at Kalamazoo, MI.  After completing basic training and jump school he was transferred to Company F, 508th PIR.

He was listed as having been "seriously wounded in action" in action on October 2, 1944 and was evacuated to a field hospital.  He rejoined the regiment after ten weeks of recuperation.

Pfc Dykstra's awards incvlud the Bronze Service Star device to be worn on the Europe-Africa-Middle East Campaign ribbon for the Holland campaign and Airborne operations
