FELIX A. GALE (AKA GALENSKI)

Grave marker for Felix A. Gale (aka Galenski) in the Forestville Cemetery, Forestville (Hartford county), Connecticut.

Felix Galenski enlisted in the Army at Fort Devens, MA on 1 March 1944.

On 27 October 1944 Pvt Galenski was transferred from Hq 82nd AB Div Leicester England to Service Company, 508th PIR.

On 31 October 1944 Pvt Galenski was transferred to the 303rd Station Hospital in Lilford, Northamptonshire, UK for a non-combat related illness or injury.  He was removed from the 508th rolls and transferred to the hospital's Detachment of Patients on 22 January 1945 and did not return to the regiment.

On 3 January 1946 T5 Galenski was listed as a member of Med Det 325th Glider Inf Regiment on line 15 of the  Queen Mary passenger list, bound from Southampton, England to New York City.

Promoted to T4, he was released from active duty on 22 April 1946

In civilian life Felix shortened his surname to Gale and worked as a sales representative for the Bristol Memorial Works in Middletown, CT
