John enlisted in the Army
on 9 February 1955 and volunteered for parachutist duty. Upon
completion of jump school he was assigned to the 508 ARCT.
On 29 July 1957 he was
promoted to Pfc.
On 8 November 1957, while
at Camp Chickamauga, Japan, he re-enlisted for three years and was
transferred to Hq & Hq Co 1st Abn Battler Group, 327th /infantry, Fort
Campbell, KY. |
