Andrew registered for the draft in Dunbar, PA on 28
Decembner 1942 and was inducted into the Army at Greensburg, PA on 26
June 1943.
On 31 March 1944, Pvt Golcher was transferred from
Field Force Replacement Depot 8 to Hq Hq, 508th PIR.
He was promoted to Pfc on 5 January 1945.
On 20 October 1945, Pfc Golcher was transferred to the
504th PIR.
Andrew was discharged on 4 January 19046 at Indiantown
Gap Military Reservation, PA.
On 20 March 1950, Andrew submitted this application
for the Pennsylvania WWII Veterans Bonus. He was credited with 8
months of domestic duty and 23 months of foreign service yielding a $425
