WILLIAM H. GORHAM

Grave marker for William H. Gorham in Beulah Cemetery, Franconia (Fairfax county), Virginia.

William registered for the draft in Alexandria, VA on 2 January 1943.

On 23 July 1944, Pfc Gorham was transferred from 82nd Airborne Division HQ to Hq 2nd, 508th PIR,

Pfc Gorham was wounded in action on 12 October 1944 when struck in one hand with hand grenade fragments.  He returned to duty on 6 November 1944.

On 8 January 1945 he evacuated due to frostbite and on 12 April 1945, he was transferred to the hospital's detachment of patients. 

When released by that hospital, he was discharged for medical reasons and Invalided home.
