J.D. GRAY

   J. D. Gray, papermill employee at Springhill, La., was killed in an automobile accident on the Minden-Shreveport highway today.  He was a brother of Mrs. Doyle Milner of Camden.
   Gray was a Word War II veteran serving in the European theatre.  Funeral services will be held Thursday with burial at Leola.,

J. D. enlisted in the Army at Shreveport, LA on 29 October 1943.

Pvt Gray was transferred to Company G, 508th PIR on 22 November 194.

On 31 December 1944, Pvt Gray was sent to a field hospital and classed as a "nom-combat injury." He returned to duty on 11 January 1945.

He was appointed to the rank of Pfc on 14 January 1945.

His military decorations include the Combat Infantryman Badge awarded for action during campaign, 18 December 1944 to 20 February 1945
