Oakland High Schools announce graduates

Victor Koerper
was  amongst those from Castlemont High who donned the graduation cap and gown

Victor E. Koerper, a Captain in the 508th's Medical Detachment graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, Berkeley, California, Cass of 1936. His photo appeared at lower right of this page of the university's Blue and Gold Yearbook.

Victor served with the 508th during the summer of 1943 at Camp Mackall, NC and was promoted to Captain on 17 July 1943.  He was transferred to another unit sometime after that.  It is interesting to note that Victor's father, Charles, was a German native and his mother Eva was of Bavarian origin.

He was discharged on 7 December 1945 and set up practice in Oakland, CA.

 The Oakland Tribune
reported in its 17 December 1941 edition that a number of new doctors had been approved by the State Board of Medical examiners.
   Victor was listed in the fourth paragraph, under "Oakland"

Nuptials Announced
wedding plans of Miss Barbara Jean Cook and Dr. Victor Koerper was announced.
