SPENCER C. LADD
Spencer Charles Ladd, Sr, U.S. Army, WW II (Ret.).

At the Forsyth Medical Center. During WW II, he served with the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division. He was a member of the Gospel Light Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, where he served the bus ministry and choir for more than 40 years.

His wife, Dorothy Mulvey Ladd died on February 8, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his son, Terrance Ladd; his parents, Elisha Ladd & Elizabeth Ann Parrish, and sisters, Margaret Betts and Shirley Ladd.

Survivors include his daughter, Victoria Hester and her husband, Jack; sons, Gary Ladd and his wife, Sharon, Charles Ladd, Jr. and his wife, Jane, and Thomas Ladd and his wife, Lynn; daughter-in-law, Betty Wiles; sisters, Beulah Worrell & Wanda Er; brothers, Thurman & Clay Ladd; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; other relatives.

Graveside services were conducted on Monday, Dec. 24, 2007.

Grave marker for Spencer C. Ladd and spouse in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Walkertown (Forsyth county), North Carolina.

Spencer enlisted in the at Camp Croft, SC on 13 March 1943.

On 23 July 1944 Pfc Croft was transferred to Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 508th PIR from the 82nd Airborne Division.

Pfc Croft was awarded the Bronze Service Arrowhead device for the Holland campaign and Airborne operations.
