SSgt Nicholes arrived in Boston on 14 December 194r and probably made his way home via train.

On 7 May 1968, Ralph and Fern Graham applied for a marriage license.

Unfortunately, Fern, who operated the Nicoles Beauty Shop, predeceased Ralph by more than 7 years as she died on 2 January 1992.  The couple had two sons and one daughter.
