DANIEL F. O'KEEFE

Grave marker for Daniel F. O'Keefe in North Cambridge Catholic Cemetery, Cambridge (Middlesex county), Massachusetts.

Daniel registered for the draft in Boston, MA on 16 October 1940 and was inducted into the Army at at Boston, MA on 5 May 1943.

Although we do not know which parachute unit he was with at the time, he did maker he news regarding his participation in the Normandy assault.

T/4 O'Keefe appeared in the 508th 3rd Anniversary book photo of men recently arrived in Hq 1st.

He was discharged on 15 April 1946

Daniel was living in Gainesville, Florida at the time of his death.  His remains were returned to Massachusetts for burial.  The interment was recognized in a very small obituary.

O'KEEFE Daniel F. O'Keefe. Veteran of WW II. formerly of No. Cambridge, MA died in Gainesville, FL, May 22, 2001. survived by sisters, Mary Dentler and Rita O'Connell both of Lexington. Funeral arrangements private.
