ORMISTON

   JOHN RICHARD (Dick) Age 64. March 23, 1990-beloved husband of Vivian; beloved father of Terry and husband Louis Flowler, Kent and wife Frances, and Jennifer; grandfather of Eric, David, and Ian; brother of Joan Phillips; son-in-law of C. King Boring. Funeral service 1 p.m. Monday at the R.G. & J.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Road, Livonia. Visitation 2-9 p.m. Sunday. John registered for the draft in Dearborn, MI.  This image reflects an update following his discharge.

He was inducted into the Army at Fort Sheridan, IL on 18 May 1944.

On 13 February 1945, Pvt Ormiston was transferred from the 3rd Replacement Depot to Company F, 508th PIR.

Then on 19 October 1945, Pvt Ormiston was transferred to the 506th PIR, 101st Airborne Division.

He was discharged on 9 March 1946.

His military decorations include the Combat Infantryman Badge for action during campaign, 18 December 1944 to 20 February 1945
