PFC OLAF RHOADES, 25,
[missing in action] since Sept. 17 with the paratroops over Holland.
He worked for Coca-Cola Co., entered the service in April 1941, and went
overseas last May.
He is the son of Mrs. Margaret Rhoades, 6826 Marcus. |
However, Olaf was injured in the jump and had been
evacuated.
The World War II Hospital Admission Card Files state
the following:
Diagnosis: Fracture, closed, First Location: Spine
and Trunk: Dorsal vertebrae; Second Location: Posterior thoracic
wall.
His injury was debilitating and he was given a
disability discharge under Section II, Article 615-360 on 16 May 1945.
He married Mildred Pieszkowicz in Detroit, Michigan on 19 May 1947. |
