Benjamin Howard Rhodes, age 83, of Toccoa Falls, GA, died Friday, August 13, 2010.
Born December 24, 1926 in Moultrie, GA, he was a son of the late Elizie Clayton and Ruby Ollie Hobby Rhodes.
He was a member of Christ's Sanctified Holy Church in Fort Valley, GA. Mr. Rhodes valued education so much that he entered college when he was in his 70's and was currently attending Toccoa Falls College. He had a very generous heart and a wonderful sense of humor and was an inspiration to all that knew him.
Family members include three sons, David Rhodes of Toccoa, Timothy Rhodes of Sky Valley, GA, and Benjamin Rhodes, Jr. of Ashburn, GA; two grandsons, Timothy Clayton Rhodes and his wife Beth of Russia, and Benjamin Evan Rhodes of Boiling Springs, NC; a granddaughter, Rebecca Rhodes of Toccoa; a great-grandson, Liam Rhodes of Russia; a special friend, Ruby Grimsley of Toccoa; the beloved mother of his three children, Gloria Delay of Suwannee, GA.
Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Monday, August 16, 2010 from the Christ's Sanctified Holy Church in Fort Valley, GA.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Whitlock Mortuary from
2 pm - 4 pm Sunday afternoon August 15, 2010, and from one o'clock until the funeral hour on Monday at the Church.
