ARCHIE O. ROBNOLTE

Grave marker for Archie O. Robnolte in Byron Cemetery, Byron (Shiawassee county), Michigan.

Archie registered for the draft in Ashland, OH on 27 June 1942 and was inducted into the Army on 26 October 1942.

He volunteered for parachutist duty and was transferred to the Medical Detachment, 508th PIR.

Pfc Robnolte was attached to Hq 3rd for the jump into Normandy, France on 6 June 1944 and was taken prisoner.

On 13 June he was listed in the German-held Rennes hospital for treatment of a shrapnel wound in his left thigh,

He was liberated from Stalag 7A after hostilities and and was discharged from the Army on 31 October 1945.
