SALVADORE S. RODRIQUEZ

[courtesy of "Kimberly'"]

Birth certificate for Salvador S. Rodriquez issued in Fort Madison (Lee county), Iowa documenting his birth on 24 May 1922.

Salvador enlisted in the Army at Tacoma, WA on 22 October 1922..  He must have been immediately transferred to the 508th PIR at Fort Blanding but pertinent morning reports for 1942 are unavailable.

However, he shows up in Hq 2nd reports on 3 March 1943 when he was declared as a qualified parachutist.

In September 1943 Pfc Rodriquez went on leave for 5 days and in July 1954 T/5 Rodriquez went on leave for 7 days..

He was awarded the Bronze Star Arrowhead device for participation in the Normandy assault

On 20 September 1945 he appeared on the enlisted men roster for Hq 2nd, 508th Parachute Infantry APO 757, US Army [including his birth year].

T/5 Rodriquez was transferred to the 504th PIR n 2 October 1945.  This was probably to facilitate his transportation back to the U.S.

He was discharged on 31 December 1945..

Salvador married Leonor Lorona in Los Angeles, California on 25 July 1952.

He passed away on 8 November 1995 in Panorama City (Los Angeles county), CA and was buried in Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier (Los Angeles), CA.
