Idaho.
Dallas enlisted in the Army at Portland, OR on 30 November
1942.
Pvt Root was assigned to Hq 3rd, 508th PIR. It is unclear
whether he saw any combat but he remained in the company as his name
appears on a roster of names and home addresses for men in Hq 3rd in
Frankfurt as of 23 September 1945.
