Weds OverseasA ROCHESTER girl
serving in the Women's Army Corps in Germany was married to an American
soldier in a quiet ceremony perform in the GI Country Club at Oberursel,
Germany by Capt. Dwight W. Baker of the 508th Parachute Infantry.
The bride was Pfc Shirley Lorraine, WAC, daughter of Mr.. and Mrs.
J. V. Carenute of Oneida Street. The bridegroom was Pfc Frank M.
Rowe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rowe of Louisville, KY.
Both bride and bridegroom are stationed in Frankfurt, Germany.
Private Rowe is with the 508th Parachute Infantry, and his bride is
assigned to the 334th Signal Service Company.
The maid of honor was Sgt Betty Hartman of Bethesda, Md., and the
best man was Sgt. Rebon Pugh of Burlinson, Tenn. The bride, who
was given away by Lt. Joseph Markham, also of the 508th Parachute
Infantry, was gowned in white satin and wore a lace veil.
Private Lorraine enlisted in the Women's Army Corps in April and arrived
overseas one month later. She met Private Rowe at the Country Club
where they were later married.

Death certificate for Frank M. Rowe issued by the
Commonwealth of Kentucky certifying his death on 7 July 1961 Cause
of death of Hodgkin's disease.
His personal details were provided by his wife Shirley
whom he had married in Germany (see article at left).
