WILLIE J. SAIZ

FORT SUMNER, N.M.

  Willie J. Saiz, 70, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Fort Sumner Community House. Burial will be in Fort Sumner Cemetery by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
   Mr. Saiz was born and raised in Fort Sumner. He served in the Army from 1950 to 1953. He moved to Pueblo, Colo., where he worked at the Pueblo Army Depot. After retiring in 1985 he returned to Fort Sumner.
   Survivors include two sons, John Saiz of Las Vegas, Nev., Bill Saiz of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Linda Sokoh of Colorado Springs and Vicky Grinstead of Rocky Ford, Colo.; three brothers, Ramon Saiz Jr. of Houston, Jimmy Saiz of Plainview, Texas, and Melton Saiz of Fort Sumner; a sister, Angie Saiz of Santa Fe; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Willie enlisted in the Army on 19 January 1951 and served in the 508th RCT until his discharge on 18 January 1953.
