BOBBY G. SEWELL

   Bobby G. Sewell, age 87 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at the home of his daughter in Madison, Alabama.
    A native of Franklin County, he was born on May 31, 1931 in Decherd to the late William Thomas and Malinda Loucille (Garner) Sewell.
   Bobby was a 1949 graduate of Franklin County High School in Decherd. A true Patriot that loved his country, he served in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne during the Korean Conflict.
   He retired from Arnold Engineering Development Center, where he had been employed at various positions from construction to Chief Storekeeper for thirty-two years. Bobby enjoyed woodworking, gardening, home projects, as well as auto mechanics.
   A devoted Christian, he had been a member of Winchester First Baptist Church for fifty-four years and served as a Deacon. Bobby’s family will remember him for his loving and joyful personality that was always ready to help anyone in need; he was their “Rock” and “Hero.”
   In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years and eight days, Demple Judkins Sewell, sisters, Betty Jean Sewell and Katie Mae Sewell Hall; and brothers, Ralph Sewell and Wiley Sewell.
   Bobby is survived by his loving children, Diana (Tom) Paul of Madison, Alabama, Cheryl (David) Gee of Brentwood, and Richard (Abigail) Sewell of Winchester; grandchildren, Adam (Amber) Gee, Andrew Gee, and Austin Gee, all of Brentwood, and River Crane, Chandler Sewell, and Summer Sewell, all of Winchester; brother, Dan (Shirley) Williams of Winchester; and sister, Margaret (Don) Wall of Greenbrier, Tennessee.
   Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 5, 2018 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens with military honors bestowed.
