Grave marker for Stanley M. Shaul in Middleville Cemetery, Middleville (Herkimer county), New York.

On 21 January 1936, Pvt Shaul was listed among the passengers on the USAT Republic (AP-33)  when it  departed Fort McDowell, California bound for the "Hawaiian Department"

Launched in 1903, The SS Republic served in World War I with the Navy as USS President Grant (ID-3014) before being turned over to the Army and named Republic. Refitted for WWII service the most notable exterior change was that the four masts were each ringed by four cargo hoists.  Below decks more changes were made to accommodate troops.

Sgt Shaul appeared in the  508th's 20 October 1945 3rd Anniversary book photo of men recently arrived in Co I.

Following his discharge, Stanley married Katherine Elizabeth Clifford in Newport, Herkimer, NY on 25 February 1946.
