STANLEY M. SHAUL
ITHACA - Stanley M. Shaul, 85,
of 1028 Ellis Hollow Rd., Ithaca, died Thursday, July 3, 2003 at Cayuga
Medical Center. He was the son of the late Seward and Edna Casler Shaul.
Stanley was a veteran of the Army, serving in WWII with the 82nd Airborne.
He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 961 and the Trumansburg American
Legion.
Survivors include his daughter, Helen (Robert) Russler of Ithaca;
granddaughter, Jennifer Russler of Ithaca; and grandson, Michael (Carolyn)
Russler of Lansing, NY, also several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services
will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at 11 AM at Bangs Funeral Home with
Rev. Vernon "Pete" Hood officiating. There are no calling hours.
Memorial
donations may be made to either the V.F.W. Post 961 or the Trumansburg
American Legion. Private burial will be held at the convenience of
the family.

On 21 January 1936, Pvt Shaul was listed among the passengers on
the USAT Republic (AP-33) when it departed Fort McDowell, California bound for
the "Hawaiian Department"

Refitted for WWII service the most
notable exterior change was that the four masts were each ringed by four cargo hoists.

Sgt Shaul appeared in the 508th's 20
October 1945 3rd Anniversary book photo of men recently arrived in
Co I.
Following his discharge, Stanley married Katherine
Elizabeth Clifford in Newport, Herkimer, NY on 25 February 1946.
