JOHN L. SIMMONS, JR.

Simmons, John L., Jr., of Tamarac, FL passed away of natural causes at 9:30 am on June 26th. He is survived by the love of his life, his beautiful wife of 62 years, Iris; his sons, John, Steve, and Roger; his daughters-in-law, Beth, Donna, Ilene, Barbara, and Fran; his 13 grandchildren and his 4 great-grandchildren. To his dying day, he missed his daughter Diane, who passed away 12 years ago. He lived and worked in Ft. Lauderdale the majority of his life.

A paratrooper in WW II with the 508th PIR, John parachuted, along with his band of brothers, into Normandy and Holland, and then fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

To his family, he was a hero and an unwaveringly devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His example of quiet courage, and love will be remembered by all those whose lives will be touched. A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, June 28th at 1:00 PM at the T.M.
