Re-enlists
T-5 Joseph Sorbello who enlisted in the Army shortly after his 17th birthday and who served as a paratrooper with the U. 8. Army in Europe has re-enlisted as a paratrooper. He is now two months short of his 20th birthday He served with the 513 and 515 Paratroop Infantry and was In the famed Battle of The Bulge.

Joseph Sorbello, 74; Of Southington
Joseph Sorbello of Hart Street, Southington, died Friday at the Plainville Heath Care Center. He was 74.
He was born in Southington and retired 12 years ago from I2S in
Wallingford. He also owned and operated the J & S Sorbello Farms with his wife. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War n, serving with the 101st Airborne in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the American Legion Kiltonic Post 72 and had been a parishioner of St. Thomas Church.
He is survived by a son, Joseph Sorbello of Southington; two grand-children, Michael and Nicole Sorbello; five brothers, Sabastiano Sorbello, Salvatore Sorbello, and Rocco Sorbello, all of Southington, Giovanni Sorbello Jr. of Torrington, and Amelio Sorbello of Meriden; five sisters, Rose Franco of Manchester, Barbara DiNicola
of Wolcott, Consetta Commesso of Florida, Margaret Dorsey of Wallingford, and Rachel Sorbello of Southington; and several nieces and nephews. His wife, Shirley H. (Musczynski) Sorbello, died previously.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main St., Southington, to St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington, at 10 a.m.

Joseph registered for the draft in Middletown,
Middlesex, CT on 6 May 1943.
Joseph was apparently transferred from the 101st
Airborne division to the 508th PIR in late 1945 or early 1946.
