Michael married Dorothy Buzard in Cook county, IL on 18 May 1940.

He registered for the draft in Chicago, IL on 16 October 1940.

On 20 October 1945 Pfc Stanisovich appeared in the 3rd Anniversary book photo of men recently arrived in Co G, 508th PIR.

Note:  there is some evidence that he may have assumed the surname Stanwick.
