"TONY" STOCKARD
William Donald "Tony" Stockard, 79, of 1120
Edgefield St., Columbia, S.C., formerly of Greensboro, died Thursday at
Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Loflin Funeral Home in
Liberty. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Liberty.
An Army veteran of World War
II, Stockard was a life member of VFW Post 641, charter member of 82nd
Airborne Division-507 paratroopers, and was awarded Static Line Man of the
Year for 1980. He was a graduate of High Point College, a member of
the committee for Battle of Normandy Museum, and a member of Liberty United
Methodist Church.
Surviving is his sister, Mrs. Emily Odom Rutherford of Columbia.
The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home 7-9 p.m., today.

October 1940 and was inducted into the Army at Fort Bragg, NC on 11 April
1942.
