Arthur Joseph Felix Wahner, 77, 2208 Green Acre Drive, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 1992, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Nashville. The funeral mass will be at 4 p.m. today at the .Religious Educational Center, 193-B (the old Army Hospital Chapel), Fort Campbell, Ky. The remains will be cremated. The family will receive friends at the residence. He was born Sept. 25, 1914, in Hillsboro, Ore., a son of Herman Adolf Wahner and Martha Chappa Wahner He was a member of the Catholic Church and retired from the U.S. Army after 47 years of service. Military honors include Master Combat Jump. Wings with both division jumps in World War II, Normandy and Holland; Bronze Star; Combat Infantryman's Badge, (third award with two stars); Army Commendation Medal with three oak leaf cluster; the Good Conduct medal (eighth award); and the Purple Heart with two loops (third award). He also was a member of the National Guard and was a Scout Master with Troop No. 37, Fort Benning, Ga. Survivors include his wife, Esther Maria Rivera Wahner, Clarksville; eight sons, Xavier Juan Wahner, Herman Jose Wahner, and Jorge J. Wahner, all of Boca Raton, Fla., Wayne Julio Wahner and Aaron J. Wahner, both of Cottageville, W.Va.; Lester Jesus Joseph Wahner and Warren Jamie Wahner, both of El Paso, Texas; and Ruppert Jeffery Wahner, Clarksville; a daughter, Alicia Cecilia Maria Wahner, Sevierville; and 15 grandchildren.

Arthur's draft record was updated in the Bronx, NY on
31 August 1945 following his initial discharge which had occurred 5 days
earlier.
He enlisted in the Army at Albany, NY on 4 October
1940.
On 11 February 1945, Pvt Wahner was transferred from
Hq 1st to Company G and was appointed to the grade of Pfc on 15 February
1945.
On 2 March 1944, SSgt Wahner was transferred from
Service Co to Hq 1st.
On 22 June 1944, SSgt Wahner was listed as slightly wounded in action
and returned to duty on 22 July 1944.
SSgt Wahner was reduced to the rank of Pvt on 23
January 1945.
He was transferred to Hq 1st on 22 November 1944.
Arthur re-enlisted on 4 March 1948 and served in the
regular Army until 30 September 1973
