A 45-year-old Gettysburg R D 1 man, the father of 11 children, was
killed in a three- vehicle accident near Westminster Saturday night when
his van truck crossed into the wrong lane of traffic and struck two
other cars.
State Police said Nevin E Warner apparently fell asleep at the
wheel of his 1967 van which then proceeded north in the southbound lane

According to police, Warner's van became northbound in the
southbound lane on a curve. Leslie Greene, husband of the woman who was
injured, was southbound in a 1969 sedan, rounded the curve and swerved
into the northbound lane to avoid Warner’s vehicle. But he lost control
of his car and struck a guard rail
A second southbound vehicle, driven by Roger A. Fountain, no
address listed, also attempted to avoid Warner’s van but was struck on
the right front and side. Fountain was not injured.
Warner was a produce dealer. He was returning from a trip to
Washington, D.C. at the time of the accident, police said.
He served as a parachutist during World War II.
