EARL O. YAREVITZ

Earl O. Yarevitz

LEWISTOWN - Earl O. Yarevitz, 73, of 24 Spanogle Ave., Lewistown, died at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at his residence.

Born Jan. 29, 1928, in Mifflin County, he was the son of the late Emil F. and Laura (Lockett) Yarevitz. His wife, Doris J. Yarevitz, died May 16, 1995.

Surviving are: daughters, Mrs. Sidney (Gail) Rhodes, Burnham and Debra Hartley, Mifflin; two grandsons and two great-granddaughters

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army Airborne as a paratrooper in the famed 82nd Airborne Division, the 508th Infantry Regiment and the 782nd Ordinance Company as a squad leader. He also served two years in the Pennsylvania National Guards.

He retired from Lewistown Specialty Yarns in 1991 after 40 years of service.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Lewistown and Masonic Lodge 203 F&AM, Lewistown.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Lind Memorial Cemetery, with the Rev. Dale Hippensteel officiating. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.

There will be no viewing.
