R. Yohe Olin R. "Dee" Yohe, 73,
died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 1995, in Washington Hospital.
Born Aug. 10, 1922 in Monongahela, he ws the son of the late Horace
and Anna Voelker Yohe.
Mr. Yohe was a veteran of World War II and later retired from the
U.S. Army 201st Airborne Division.
He was Episcopalian.
Mr. Yohe was a member of VFW Post 1409 of Monongahela and Arroas
Haymakers Association 2581/2 of New Eagle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eula
Yohe, and one brother, Calvin Yohe.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. John (Johnnie) McGarvey of
Alstead, NH; three sons, David Yohe of Newark, Ohio, H.l. Yohe of the
Fort Lewis Army base and Spanaway, Wash.; two brothers, Paul and Samuel
Yohe, both of Monongahela, one sister, Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Swoger
of Monongahela; six grandsons and one granddaughter.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the L. M.

registered for the draft ca. 1941. On 27
November 1942 He was included in a listing of men from New Eagle, PA
who had passed physical exam in Pittsburgh and inducted but given
furlough before reporting for duty. [The

Assignment At Fort Dix
Ft. Dix, N. J., Nov. 4 --- Pfc. Olin R. Yohe. son of Mrs. Anna M.
Yohe, Morton St., New Eagle, Pa., is now at the 9th Infantry Division,
Fort Dix, N. J., awaiting assignment.
Private Yohe reenlisted in the Army on Oct. 20. 1947, and formerly
served for 12 months in the European Theater of Operations. He is
entitled to wear the Purple Heart Medal; Good Conduct Medal; and the ETO
Ribbon with 3 stars.
Prior to entering the Army he attended Monongahela High school.
On 20 February 1950, Olin submitted this application
for the Pennsylvania WWII Veterans Bonus. He was stationed at Fort Bragg
at the time and a member of Company A, 504th Airborne Infantry regiment.
Note that he is apparently single since beneficiary lines for wife and
children are blank and does list his parents. His total bonus
payment was $420 of he $500 maximum available.
Eighty Four R. D. 1 GI Completes Rifle Instructor
Course
Sergeant First Class Olin R. Yohe, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. L.
Yohe, Eighty Four, R. D. 1, recently completed the advanced
rifle marksmanship instructor course at the Army's Infantry School, Fort
Benning, Ga.
After graduation ceremonies. Sergeant Yohe returned to his regular
duties as a platoon sergeant in Company E of the 101st Airborne
Division's 506th Airborne Airborne Infantry Combat Group at Fort
Campbell. Ky.

On
21 May 1958, SFC Yohe, accompanied by his wife and two children,
deplaned from MATS flight at Travis AFB, CA after a flight from
Tokyo, Japan.
Olin retired from the Army on 31 July 1963.with over
20 yers of service.
