A number of men from the 508th PIR were taken captive in the early days of the Normandy Invasion.  The following names were extracted from a six-page list detailing POWs held at Orglandes on the Cotentin Peninsula.  Most entries are undated but two appeared in a dated sub-group.  Note that Lt. Kolisch was transferred to another camp at Valognes, probably as an effort to separate enlisted men and officers.  Despite that, however, Capt. Beaudin appears to have remained in Orglandes.  It is possible that these two officers purposely separated themselves in order to spread their medical expertise between the two POW camps.
