508TH OFFICERS REGISTER

A directory listing all 508th officers, by grade and date of rank, served as a locator system.  Where possible a phone number was listed otherwise a color code was employed.  Note that Col Lindquist and his XO plus battalion C.O. quarters were in large homes on Schlosser Strasse which had numeric phone numbers (or extensions) that were two or three digits.  These phones were tied in the switchboard at the I.G. Farben Building.
Company CO's, XO's and Platoon Leaders were quartered in apartments on Im Burgfeld and were served by an EE8 hand-cranked field phone tied into the regimental switchboard. Some addresses are listed with color codes of Blue or Red but these codes were not used with radios or field phones because of security concerns.  The Officers Club also carried a phone number.
The straight-line distance between Schlosser Strasse and Im Burgfeld is 1.64 miles, by road the distance increases to 4.6 miles.
The street address is not shown but the "O-Club" was within the regimental area..
The date of publication is unknown but the newest date of rank (shared by one 2nd lt. and three WOJGs) is June 15, 1945.
