OPERATION JUST CAUSE, REPUBLIC OF PANAMA

The United States invaded Panama in an attempt to overthrow military dictator Manuel Noriega, who had been indicted in the United States on drug trafficking charges and was accused of suppressing democracy in Panama and endangering U.S. nationals. Noriega’s Panamanian Defense Forces were promptly crushed, forcing the dictator to seek asylum with the Vatican Embassy in Panama City, where he surrendered on January 3, 1990.

Talking Him In
a radio op clears a CH-47 Chinook into the LZ while some troops await its arrival

First Stick
loads aboard the Chinook while more troopers rest before their turn comes up

AA Beats AAA Any Day
another day, another place as a Chinook makes a service call for a Humvee.  These vehicles could be loaded inside or hung on exterior support cables for transport which seems to be the case here
