CAMP RADCLIFF, VIETNAM
--- Sgt John D. Babinsack, 22, whose father, Lon Babinsack,
lives at 110 Buffalo St., Pa., reenlisted for six in the Regular Army
Sept. 18, while serving with the Air Cavalry Division at Camp Radcliff,
Viet Nam.
Sgt. Babinsack, a squad leader in Company A, 2d Battalion
of the division's 12th Cavalry, entered the Army in March 1961, was
last assigned at Ft. Knox, Ky. f and arrived overseas in December 1965.
The sergeant has received the Infantryman's Badge.
He completed his
high school education through a General Educational Development test.
His wife, Lora, lives at 110 Buffalo St., Freeport.

GI Dies of Malaria
An Army staff sergeant from Muldraugh has died of malaria after
serving in Vietnam for three months. He was John D. Babinsack, of
119 Walker Road, who died in a hospital at Hue, South Vietnam,
Saturday. He was 24.
Babinsack was native of Freeport, Pa.
He is survived by his widow, the former Lora Calloway; a son,
Victor David Babinsack; his father, Lon Babinsack of Freeport; two
sisters, Mrs. James Tamushy, of Philadelphia, and Mrs. Virginia
Howard, of Breckinridge, Pa., and two brothers, Lon J. and William
Babinsack, both of Freeport.
On arrival from Vietnam, the body will be at W. G. Hardy Valley
Funeral Home, 10907 Dixie Highway.

Staff Sgt. John D. Babinsack's funeral will be
Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Cherry Funeral Home, Freeport, Pa. Burial
will also be in Freeport. The body is at W. G. Hardy Valley Funeral
Home, 10907 Dixie Highway. A memorial service will be held there at
11 a.m. Saturday. Babinsack, 24, of 119 Walker Road, died of malaria
in a hospital at Hue, Vietnam, on June 22. He had been in Vietnam
three months.

Township (Armstrong county), Pennsylvania.
John enlisted in the Army on 18 September
1966. He began his second tour in Vietnam on 3 April 1968 and contracted
Malaria which took his life on 22 June 1968.
Although his grave marker states he was
in Company A, 505th PIR, he was in C Company 508th PIR at the time of
his death.
