Plainwell Man
Killed In Viet

  PLAINWELL (UPI) --- Army 1st Lt. John S. Baxter, 30, was killed in combat in Vietnam, his family was informed by the Defense Department Monday.
   He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Baxter, of Plainwell, and also is survived by his wife, Jacqueline and son Kenneth.  The. death occurred Aug. 27 between Hue and  Da Nang under enemy attack.

Grave marker 1st Lt. John S. Baxter in Plot 987, Fort Donelson National Cemetery, Dover (Stewart county), Tennessee.

Lt.. Baxter was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and the Purple Heart.
