PFC MANUEL A. CORDOVA

Interment record and grave marker for Pfc Manuel A. Cordova at Plot C Row 15 Grave 3 in the Henri Chapelle American Cemetery, Belgium.

 

Manuel registered for the draft in Globe (Gila), AZ on 11 December 1942 and was inducted intro the army at Phoenix, AZ on 20 April 1943.

Pvt Cordova was transferred to Hq 3rd, 508th PIR on 28 October 1943.  He was wounded in action on 8 June 1944 and evacuated.

On 19 June 1944 he was placed on detached service with the Detachment of Patients at 4711 US Army Hospital Plant, APO 115.  although he returned to the company on 28 June, he was immediately transferred to Service Company for light duty. 

Pfc Cordova was initially repotted missing in action as of 8 January 1945.  His status was changed to killed in action on 12 January 1945.

His military decorations include the Bronze Star as well as the Purple Heart with one Oak Leaf Cluster.
