1ST LT. RONALD L. FRAZER
Former Cambridge City
Man Killed In Vietnam

CAMBRIDGE CITY --- Second Lt. Ronald L. Frazer, 22, was killed in action in Vietnam on May 24, 1968.  He had previously been reported as missing.
   The son of retired Major and Mrs. Lloyd D. Frazer, former residents of R. R. 1, Cambridge City, he attended Lincoln High School and was graduated there in the Class of 1963.  He was graduated from the US. Military Academy at West Point in 1967.  He was an associate member of the Dublin Friends Church.
   Lt. Frazer went to Vietnam in February of this year and was with Company C, 1st Battalion, 508th Infantry, 3rd Brigade of the 82nd Airborne Division.
   He ws awarded the Silver Star for bravery under enemy fire due to his actions in battle against North Vietnamese troops near Hue May 4,  The medal was presented to Lt. Frazer by Maj. Gen. [Barsanti], the commander of the 101st Airborne Division, even though he was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division.
   His parents are Lloyd D. Frazer, assistant superintendant of Jeffersonville-Utica Community Schools at Jeffersonville and former principal at Lincoln High school at Cambridge City and Lewisa, his mother, a former  teacher in Henry County schools.  They now live at 1122 Harmony Lane, Jeffersonville, Ind.
   Additional survivors are four sisters, Mrs. Darlene Keibs of Muncie, Pamela, a student at Earlham College, Theresa and Carole, at home; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Thornburg of Blountsville; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
   Funeral arrangements for Lt. Frazer will be in charge of the Dell Funeral Home in Dublin pending word from the Oakland, Calif. Disposition Center.

Grave marker for 1st Lieutenant Ronald L. Frazer in the United States Military Academy Post Cemetery, West Point (Orange county), New York..

Ronald was a member of USMA Class of 1967.

Note that his rank is reported at left as 2nd lieutenant while the grave marker indicates it as 1st lieutenant.

Similarly, some reports said that he received a Bronze Star medal vice the Silver Star reported at left.  The grave marker only sows the award of a Purple Heart.
