PVT CON D. HUDNALL

Rites For 2nd
Logan Victim
of Korean War

   Camp Campbell Paratroopers were in charge of military rites at the graveside for the burial of Pvt. Con D. Hudnall, September 113, at the Beechland Cemetery, Lewisburg.
   Pvt. Hudnall was the second victim of the Korean war to be returned to Logan county for burial. Funeral services were conducted at the Tabernacle Baptist Church the Revs. H. T. Ashby and Raymond Ward officiating. The deceased was a member of the Dunmor Baptist church.
   He was born in Logan county, October 3, 1923 and was killed in combat in Korea on Feb. 14, 1951. 
   Paratroopers from Camp Campbell acted as pallbearers. Pvt. Hudnall was a veteran of World War II, having served in the 3d Battalion, 508th Parachute Inf: Regiment of the U. S. Army. He received his first paratroop training in England. He re-enlisted in August, 1949 and entered training at Camp Campbell. He was sent to Korea in September, 1950.
   He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Audra Hudnall of Lewisburg and a brother, James L. Hudnall, Flint, Michigan.

Pvt Hudnall was a member of H Co, 3rd Battalion, 508th PIR during WWII and was wounded in action on 1 February 1945 in Belgium.

Pvt Hudnall re-enlisted on 10 November 1945 and was transferred to the 2nd Bn, 11th Airborne Div, 187th Airborne Infantry Regiment at Camp Campbell, KY.

Pvt Hudnall was killed in action in Wonju, South Korea on 14 February 1951 and wa awarded the Purple Heart with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster.
