Cincinnatian inductees have been sent to replacement training stations
from the Fort Thomas Reception Center, Major Harry B. Perkins. Public
Relations Officer, announced yesterday. They were distributed as

MISSING AT FIRST
Pfc Robert B. Martin,
son of Mr.
and Mrs. James Martin, 421 Boal St., reported missing since June 8, has
been listed as killed in action, according to word received by his
parents. A paratrooper, he took part in the invasion of France.
Entering the Army nearly two years ago, he had been overseas since
January.

A memorial service for Pfc Robert B. Martin,
son of Mr. and Mrs. James Martin, 421 Boal St., who was reported killed
in action in France in June, will be held at St. Peter Congressional
Church at 10:15 a.m. tomorrow. Members of the Men's Club and the
Adult Bible Club will attend in a body.

The bodies of 35 Greater
Cincinnati World War II heroes are being returned to the United States
aboard the U.S. Army Transport Barnet Kirshenbaum, the Department of the
Army announced yesterday. Of these, 23 were from Hamilton County
and their next-of-kin were listed as follows:

Street Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati (Hamilton county), Ohio.
Robert enlisted in the Army at Cincinnati, OH on 13
November 1942 and was assigned to Company I, 508th PIR.
Pfc Martin was killed in action on 22 June 1944 and was
posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and the Combat Infantryman Badge
(CIB).
