PVT MAX MYERS
(courtesy 'Frances', Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness)

Grave marker for Max Myers [Dec 8,1921 - Oct 7, 1944]

Pvt Myers, 22, was initially thought to have been killed in a jeep accident but subsequent receipt of copies of his Individual Deceased Personnel File (IDPF) as well as the Morning Reports for the Medical Detachment have shown that he was killed in action.

Myers was initially buried in Molenhoek Cemetery #1, Holland, Plot E, Row 1, Grave 12.  His remains were shipped home at the family's request after the war.

He was ultimately laid to rest on Jan 29,.1949 in the Southfields Section of Green Park Cemetery, Location 27-160-3, Portland, Indiana.

NOTE:  Myers' grave marker mistakenly lists him as a member of the 84th Parachute Infantry, rather than the 508th.
