PFC RAUL F. ORTEGA

Glendale Man Wounded in Holland
Word was received on December 7, by Miss Cecilia L. Ortega that he brother Private Raul L. Ortega, with the British Second Army, was wounded in Holland on November 21.  Private Ortega has been in the Army since July 13, 1942, and went overseas in May of this year.
He was stationed at Camp Carson, Colorado, while in the United States and took Paratroop training in England before going into action.  His parents are both dead.

NOTE:  In this article published in the Glendale News on December 22, 1944, the newspaper reported Raul as having been wounded on November 21st. Subsequent data reveals that he had been KIA nearly two weeks earlier.  Slow reporting channels probably accounted for the initial date error.
