PFC JAMES E. WELLS

PFC James E. Wells
   Army PFC James E. Wells, 20, R.R. 1. Albion, was killed in action last Thursday, the family was notified late Sunday by the Defense Department.
   His mother, Mrs. Marge Wells, ill several years with arthritis, died Monday shortly after receiving notification of her son's death.
  A 1966 graduate of Albion-Jefferson High School, he entered the Army last Jan. 2 and had been in Vietnam three months.
   Funeral services for both PFC Wells and his mother arc pending at the Bonham and Miser Funeral Home in Albion.
   Survivors of PFC Wells include the widow, Mrs. Brenda C. Wells, R.R. 2, Albion; the father, James N. Wells, R.R. 1, Albion; a son, Keith E. Wells, 1 1/2 months old, and a brother, Robert Wells.

Pfc Wells, a member of Company A, 508th Infantry, was killed in action by small-arms fire on 29 August 1968.

His military  decorations include the Purple Heart.

His name is inscribed is honored on Panel 45W, Row 3 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC
