Dear Members of the 508th P.I.H.
Association:
With great
admiration, the troopers of today's 82nd Airborne Division congratulate
you on your sixteenth annual reunion. The fighting Red Devil spirit
displayed from Normandy through the Battle of the Bulge made you one of
the legendary fighting units of the U.S. Army in World War II.
Tour story Is
one of the most valiant In Airborne history. From Normandy and the
Merderet River, through Nijmegen and the Ardennes, the 508th proved it
could out-fight the enemy anytime, anywhere.
America'a Guard
of Bonor salutes you for your undaunted bravery and pays homage to the
sacrifice of more than five hundred regimental troopers who fell in
battle.

THE MEMBERS OF THE 508TH PARACHUTE INFANTRY REGIMENT ASSOCIATION
On
behalf of the President and the United States Any, it is truly a
pleasure to send greetings to the members and families of the 508th
Parachute Infantry Regiment on the occasion of your 16th annual reunion.
Each of you has
reason to be proud of your military record, your individual and
collective involvement, and dedication to duty. The 508th's
participation throughout World War II, as part of the 82nd Airborne
Division, is an example of professionalism, patriotism, and devotion
known to exist throughout the Airborne Corps.
Today, as you gather
to renew old friendships and salute the brave soldiers of the 508th who
could not be with you, do so in knowing that you have my personal thanks
as well as thanks and gratitude from a grateful Nation. I wish you the
best for a most memorable reunion. May God's blessings be with you.
