IT IS WITH SINCERE GRATITUDE, WE, THE PEOPLE OF THE VILLAGE OF VERBOMONT HEREBY REMEMBER THE SOLDIERS OF THE 82ND AIRBORNE DIVISION, WHO FOUGHT AND GAVE ALL FOR THE FREEDOM OF BELGIUM, ON OUR SOIL DURING THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE IN AND AROUND OUR VILLAGE OF VERBOMONT, DECEMBER 18-19, 1944

TO OUR FRIENDS, THE BRAVE MEN OF THE 508TH PARACHUTE INFANTRY REGIMENT OF THE 82ND AIRBORNE DIV.  MAY OUR FRIENDSHIP BE EVERLASTING  BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES AND BELGIUM.  FROM THE PEOPLE OF THE ARDENNES. (repeated in French)
